This is what we will learn about this term
The topic plan is useful information, as some parents like to tie in day trips, books for birthdays/Christmas and documentaries on TV etc. We will also post updates on class dojo of what we have been up to in class and what we will be learning in the future.
Homework
To start year 2 the main priority for homework is reading. This should be done at least 3 times a week. The children will bring home a reading book which they should be able to read most of but will not be fully decodeable. They will also have access to online fluency books, extending their reading skills from year 1. From January the children will start to bring home some maths work, such as learning times tables and some spellings.
PE
Please ensure that your child has a full PE kit in school; PE lessons are on a Thursday and Friday but you never know when an opportunity may arise for a little extra e.g. Sports Relief, sponsored charity events etc. As the weather gets colder please provide clothes suitable for outside P.E.
