A Wonderful Christmas Dinner Day at Gilthill 🎅🎄⭐

The tables were set, the crackers laid, and the gravy simmered away. As the children started to walk down the stairs to the hall, the Christmas music began, and the smiles appeared. It can mean only one thing… Christmas Dinner Day!

What a fantastic time we had. Turkey with all the trimmings followed by a Christmas cupcake and a cracker to pull with friends made for a wonderful celebration.

A huge thank you to Mrs Staton and our kitchen crew for all their hard work preparing and serving. Thanks also to the office team, our governors, and staff helpers for setting up the hall, and to our staff team for assisting with serving and clearing. It truly was a team effort. The children had a great time and were so well-behaved and courteous. What a wonderful Gilthill Christmas Dinner Day!

Whole school trip to see Sleeping Beauty at the Playhouse

What a fantastic day we had at the panto! The stage was set, the lights went down, and the show began! Oh no, it didn’t… oh yes, it did!

The children loved every minute, from the songs and dancing to the evil Maleficent and her fiery dragon. I am so proud of our Gilthill lot for their excellent behaviour and conduct outside of school. They were kind and respectful, truly joining in with the panto fun. Well done to Reign for taking to the stage and helping out with one of the songs too.

A huge thank you to all the staff and adult helpers, including governors and parents, who gave up their time to help us out. I also want to thank Mrs Langmaid for her super organisation skills and making sure everything ran smoothly.

    Nativity Magic!

The stage was set, the tinsel halos were made, and it can only mean one thing… it’s Christmas Nativity time at Gilthill! On Tuesday 9th, our Reception children dazzled us with their performance of ‘It’s a Baby!’ What a fantastic show it was! We were treated to singing, dancing, beautiful costumes, and superb speaking parts. Mrs Cregan and her team sprinkled her unique Christmas magic, using her skill and patience to create a truly magical performance for our parents. Well done, Reception!

On Wednesday 10th, it was the turn of our KS1 children, who presented their nativity play, ‘Knock, Knock Nativity.’ It certainly was a cracker, filled with singing, dancing, and the odd Christmas joke! We witnessed fantastic speaking parts showcasing our oracy skills, a solo song, and even some sign language for the songs. Beautiful! A huge thank you to Mrs Langmaid, Mr Clarke and their team for their hard work in bringing it all together. I am so proud of you all. Merry Christmas, everyone!
