  • Roman Day Adventure

Thu 23 Sep 2021 Mrs Allison

On Tuesday 21st September the children in year 3 and 4 took part in a Roman Day. The children, and the staff, came dressed for the occasion and enjoyed a day of reenactment, creativity and exploration. The children were able to handle artefacts, explore past cultures and societies and to think like an historian. The company hoisting the day commented on how polite and respectful the children were. Well done year 3 and 4, we are proud of you!

    New staff Members

At the start of this academic year we are welcoming two new members of staff to our teaching team. Mrs. L Painter will be working one day a week in year 2, providing cover for Mrs. Langmaid to complete her leadership responsibilities. Ms. S Froggatt will be joining us for two days a week supporting the children in year 3 and 4 and providing some targeted interventions.

We welcome both new members to staff to our wonderful team. We know they will love Gilthill just as much as we do!

  • Welcome back!

Mon 06 Sep 2021 Mrs Allison

What a wonderful start to the new school year! The children have all come back to school smiling and ready to learn. It has been such a pleasure to welcome our new Reception children for their first few days at school. I must say they are looking very smart in their new school uniforms!

Our morning opening routine is working well, with children coming in at 8.45 and gates closing at 8.55am. At the end of the day we are still operating our staggered finish times with gates opening at 3.15 and closing at 3.30pm.

Children have settled back into our new lunchtime routines. We now have two sittings, one for EYFS/KS1 and one for KS2. The children are very happy to once again be mixing with other children in their key stages. The three weekly lunch menu has been emailed out to parents and is on the school website under ‘School Lunches’ in the Parents tab.
